Norco High School has a new football stadium, and there's still a lot of construction happening on campus, but the Cougar football team looked solid as it handed the visiting team from La Quinta High School a 42-22 defeat. 

The Cougars improved their record to 2-1 and used a solid running attack and aggressive defense to build a 21-0 lead halfway into the first quarter. The Blackhawks didn't give up fighting back to end the quarter down 21-7.

Friday night football and Norco have a strong tradition and this year's team will surely build on that if this game is an indicator of the excitement that it can generate with long runs by the running backs. The importance of Norco High traditions was highlighted during halftime ceremonies in which five athletes and coaches were inducted into the Norco Athletic Hall of Fame.
